Job summary

A leading construction products firm is seeking a Middle Management professional to provide promotional and advisory services to decision-makers in the built environment. The role requires developing relationships and ensuring the use of Safal specifications on projects. Candidates should have a diploma-level qualification, with experience in the construction industry preferred. This is a permanent position based in Boksburg offering a market-related salary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of general work experience.
  • 2 years in Steel, Roofing, or Construction industry is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English.

Description: The primary purpose of the job is to provide a comprehensive promotional and advisory service to all built environment professionals, decision makers and clients by creating an awareness of, and a high degree of preference for the Safal brand & product range. To inform the Professional sector and other product specifiers of the product benefits and features as well as correct application for our product range, to ensure that Safal specifications are applied on projects and tenders (or RFP).

Achieving accepted "hit" rates for both sector reach and project conversion through cold calling, and the effective use of marketing and CRM tools, with the ultimate aim of achieving company profitability & objectives.

To conduct oneself at all times in line with acceptable behaviour of a Company Ambassador at all levels of interaction.

Main Responsibilities

Developing relationships & providing solutions to the decision makers within the professional arena by promoting the company.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of professionals and projects.

Providing assistance to the marketing/sales department and assisting/contributing to the development of specifications.

Maintaining and fostering relationships with existing professionals to ensure an agreed number of new professionals on our database.

Marketing the endorsements & the development of specifications which favour Safal Group brands and products including specific products such as Saflok, Newlok, Fluteline and others.

Managing & controlling the progress of specifications & enquiries through to a successful sale.

Contributing to the development of the specifications strategy and plans which contribute to the overall business objectives.

Managing and controlling all aspects of customer relationship management, communicating and assisting in resolving customer complaints & professional queries.

Developing, gathering and sharing of market intelligence with all stakeholders on a pre-arranged basis.

Effective use of SAP and compliance with required reporting – daily, weekly and monthly.

Attendance at and participation in stock takes, attendance of conference and training sessions.

Develop and implement systems and processes to enable the effective monitoring of the performance of Safal Steel and group products and the identification of improvements in product quality.

Assist in the development of technical sales and marketing literature and associated documents to improve the marketing of the group and its products.

Maintain an awareness of technical developments in the industry to ensure that the business has up-to-date and relevant information.

Making presentations to professionals.

Arranging expos for the architectural and government sector.

Qualifications required

Minimum academic qualification: A diploma-level qualification.

Qualifications as an added advantage: Building or Construction Related.

Experience required: General work experience (years): 05 years.

Specific to the position (level / discipline / years): 2 years in Steel, Roofing or building, Construction industry (advantageous).

Computer literacy

MS Office, SAP (advantageous), Excel.

Language requirements

English.
