Key Responsibilities

• Operate specialized delivery vehicles equipped with temperature control systems (refrigeration/heating).
• Ensure that goods are transported and delivered within specified temperature ranges, monitoring and recording conditions throughout the journey.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections, with a particular focus on the functionality of refrigeration/heating units and associated equipment.
• Adhere strictly to all company policies, traffic laws, and safety protocols for handling specialized cargo.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including temperature logs, proof of delivery, and any deviations from standard procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring secure and professional handling of sensitive deliveries.
• Plan efficient delivery routes within the Soweto and wider Gauteng area, optimizing for timely arrival and minimal transit time.
• Securely load and unload specialized cargo, following specific handling instructions to prevent damage.
• Report any issues with vehicle systems, cargo integrity, or delivery challenges immediately to the operations manager.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the delivery vehicle and its specialized equipment.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license (Code 08/EB minimum), with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in delivery driving, preferably with exposure to specialized or temperature-controlled goods.
• Demonstrated understanding of maintaining temperature-controlled environments during transit.
• Familiarity with the road networks of Soweto and the broader Gauteng province.
