A global investment management firm in Cape Town seeks a Specialist: Investment Compliance Support Services. Responsibilities include compliance reporting, interpreting regulations for investments, and collaborating with teams to maintain data integrity. Summary of the position: The Specialist: Investment Compliance Support Services is the regulatory specialist in the Investment Compliance Support Services (ICSS) team. The ICSS team reports regulatory and bespoke mandate compliance breaches to clients daily on a post-trade basis and provides monitoring capabilities for pre-trade compliance from NX Manager. The team also produces monthly regulatory holdings reports for clients, run from the data warehouse and enriched with data from InvestOne and NXManager. External Manager look-through is performed for monthly reporting. The role requires knowledge across the investment and operational cycle and involves interpreting mandates and legislation to translate regulation into workable compliance rule results for client investment decisions. The role collaborates with the ICSS team and other relevant teams to apply interpretation to NX Manager (pre- and post-trade compliance) as well as the Compliance Reporting Warehouse. The role also requires working knowledge of converting interpretation into rules within the technology platform, with strong technical or operational knowledge of investment instruments and issuers. Experience on NX Manager (Decalog) or other comparable monitoring systems is ideal. Ongoing success depends on continual oversight of static and market data to ensure correct classification into regulatory rulesets.
You will assist with processing external manager data and mapping instruments for ingest into Apex systems, and will work with the Instrument and Fund Setup team to maintain static data integrity for investment compliance. Data and issuer market capitalization checks are required.
The Specialist: Investment Compliance Support Services will report to the Senior Manager: Investment Compliance: Support Services, based in the Mowbray, Cape Town office.
