The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent full‑time position.

As a Specialist Governance & Technical Stewardship, you will be to deliver TMM statutory, design, specification, and performance and asset management governance and technical support to Operations and projects in accordance with relevant processes, standards, and performance targets.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Providing TMM engineering governance and leadership to site.
• Ensure all TMM equipment is well designed and reliably delivers safe outcomes.
• Provide TMM technical support to Operations to improve safety and reliability of TMM equipment, resolve operational issues / problems and support investigations in compliance with technical standards.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a heavy industry and/or mining.
• GCC Mines & Works will be advantageous.
• Well‑practiced and mature understanding in the key elements of governance and technical stewardship, standards and change control in Engineering function is essential.
• Experience in the design, manufacturing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of TMM for surface and underground mining is essential.
• Good understanding of the relevant statutory requirements and international standards governing the safe operation of surface and underground TMM is essential.
• Hands‑on experience in CPS L9 implementation and maintenance will be advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are

• Bachelor’s Degree / National diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Grade 12.
• Valid drivers license is essential.
