Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Food Services management in a corporate environment.
- Experience in the automobile manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Extensive experience in supplier management.

Specialist: Food Services
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for development, implementation and steering of local concepts, processes, systems and tools for food services for all BMW entities in South Africa based on the requirements of the served entities, aligned with the BMW Group wide framework provided by the governance functions and compliant with all local legal regulations.
- Responsible for local implementation and steering of BMW Group wide policies, concepts, processes, systems and tools for food services.
- Responsible for operational planning and steering of execution of food services processes and measures for the supported entities.
- Responsible for meeting all legal, compliance and regulatory requirements for food services related topics incl. consultancy and enabling of the management about liabilities of the company.
- Responsible for advising and enabling of all disciplinary leaders of the served entities to fulfil employer‘s obligations regarding occupational safety and health management, compliant with all local legal regulations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure legal, regulatory and BMW Food Safety Guideline compliance of all food services provided.
- Plan and implement activities and programmes for food services with service providers.
- Ensure compliance and close-out throughout reviews, inspections and audits.
- Coordinate and maintain safety, sanitation and maintenance programme for food services.
- Steer and monitor customer satisfaction and ensure corrective actions are effective.
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality and / or service.
Coordinate activities with internal partners as necessary, such as facility and building management for utility modifications, equipment installations, repairs, etc.
- Monitor the performance of the service providers with KPIs and steer non-performance accordingly.
- Ensure documentation is maintained for all key accountabilities.
- Manage all tender specifications for all food service contracts in line with BMW Group purchasing policies.
- Collaborate with BMW Group on projects, programmes and initiatives.
- Develop and implement a food service strategy for BMW Group South Africa.
- Forecast, monitor and control budget provision for food services in collaboration with the financial controlling team.
STRATEGIC OUTLOOK
- Align, implement and maintain the BMW Group global food services strategy in South Africa.
- Ensure a reliable and flexible food service offering that is able to react on short term changes to working hours.
- Agile decision-making to protect the Company representatives and assets in the case of catering / hygiene incidents.
- Share and learn from best practices within the BMW Group.
- Seek innovative solutions to existing problems.
- Ensure food services are contemporary and progressive.
COMMUNICATION SCOPE
- Alignment of food services activities with BMW Group standards across all areas of responsibility.
- Excellent working relationships with central CoC for food services in regional and central areas.
- External interface with service provider to achieve success in areas of responsibility and accountability.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- NQF 6 qualification in Hospitality / Hotel / Restaurant Management with additional qualifications in Finance / Business Management.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Food Services management in a corporate and industrial environment.
- Experience in the automobile manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Extensive experience in supplier management across multiple entities and requirements.
