The Specialist: Credit Risk and Governance is responsible for ensuring effective risk management and governance practices within the organization.
Conduct regular risk assessments and control evaluations to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures. Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and relevant committees, highlighting key risk areas and trends. Leverage the available risk management systems and data analytics tools. Provide support on the process management risk monitoring and remediation, ensuring accurate reporting. Engage and coordinate audit requirements during reviews to ensure compliance and effective governance. Manage special projects to ensure successful execution and alignment with organizational goals. Perform governance and secretarial duties for the risk management forums such as the BB Credit, Watchlist and Impairments Committee, etc.
Support the development and implementation of risk policies, frameworks, and methodologies. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management practices and recommend improvements where necessary. Support the development and implementation of governance frameworks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Provide training and guidance to staff on risk management and governance processes.
Education: Bachelor's degree and advanced diplomas in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required). Absa Bank Limited is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
