Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Childcare Assistant in Soweto to support children with diverse learning and developmental needs. You will work with lead educators and therapists to implement individualized plans and assist with daily activities in a nurturing environment.

The role emphasizes patience, empathy, strong observation, and teamwork to promote inclusive participation and the well-being of every child.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with special needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, developmental delays).
• Knowledge of various special education strategies and adaptive techniques.
• Patience, empathy, and strong observational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Relevant certifications or training in special needs support are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and assistance to children with special needs in daily activities and learning tasks.
• Implement individualized education and care plans as directed by educators and specialists.
• Assist in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Facilitate positive social interactions and encourage participation in group activities.
• Observe and document children's progress and report any concerns to the lead teacher or relevant staff.
