Job summary

WSP South Africa is seeking an experienced SmartPlant 3D Modeller to join our Power and Energy team in Midrand. You will develop and maintain 3D plant models using SP3D to support energy projects across Southern Africa and internationally.

The role requires strong SP3D proficiency, 5 years in 3D modelling or draughting, and ability to coordinate across disciplines, interpret P&IDs and vendor data, producing model-derived drawings and reports.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or higher in Engineering Draughting or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Hexagon Smart 3D / SP3D.
• ≈5 years of 3D plant modelling or draughting experience in energy projects.
• Experience in SP3D disciplines and model-derived drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain intelligent 3D plant models using SP3D.
• Model equipment, piping, structures, electrical systems, HVAC.
• Interpret P&IDs, layouts, specifications and vendor data.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary models and resolve interfaces.
• Perform interference checks and support issue resolution.
• Generate model-derived drawings, schedules and reports.
• Maintain model accuracy and revision control.
