SOUS CHEF – Franschhoek

My client, a contemporary restaurant based in the Franschhoek area, is seeking to employ a SOUS CHEF who is passionate about delivering exceptional cuisine and supporting a high-performing kitchen team. This role requires someone who thrives in an upmarket, fast-paced environment and is ready to contribute to world-class food preparation, execution and service.

Purpose of the Role: Assist the Head Chef with kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality dishes and consistency in an upmarket restaurant environment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Assisting with overall kitchen management
  • Supporting menu execution and quality control
  • Overseeing stations and guiding junior staff
  • Ensuring consistency in presentation and service delivery
  • Maintaining kitchen hygiene and operational standards

Criteria

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Relevant culinary certificate or diploma
  • Strong technical abilities and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency
