Job summary

A luxury hotel in Durban is seeking a Sous Chef to oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Sous Chef. Candidates must have a Matriculation certificate and a culinary diploma, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role at a four or five-star property. The role includes managing staff, producing meals, and training junior staff. Competitive salary and full-time employment are offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef within a 4 or 5 star property.
  • HACCP certification is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Produce meals for all Food and Beverage outlets.
  • Manage a staff compliment of approximately 20.
  • Train junior staff and trainees.
  • Assist the Exec Sous Chef with additional responsibilities.
