As our Sous Chef, you will provide the highest hospitality standards within the banqueting and restaurant outlets and work with the Executive and Senior Sous Chefs.
You will be involved in developing and implementing new recipes, menu planning, and managing stock control.
Conducting training for all junior staff members and ensuring that the kitchen is prepped, stocked, and running efficiently will be part of your responsibilities.
While monitoring and maintaining the guest experience and overseeing the kitchen department by monitoring standards, you will ensure that quality and standards are kept at a high level, as well as a high level of hygiene and safety.
You have a Matric Certificate with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy, up‑market establishment and a background in using kitchen technology. Along with your track record of leadership, you are flexible, able to work shifts and have your own transport.
You are a neat and professional individual with excellent organisational skills. We are seeking someone with exceptional communication skills, team leadership and mentorship capabilities, and a strong understanding of food and hygiene safety. Your excellent culinary knowledge and product knowledge of hotels, competitors, and the city will set you apart.
