About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and passionate Sound Engineer to join their production studio in Richards Bay . This role involves managing all aspects of audio production, from recording and mixing to mastering, for various projects including music production, film, and broadcast media. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality audio output, working with artists and producers to achieve their creative vision. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of acoustics, audio hardware and software, and a meticulous approach to sound design. Key Responsibilities

• Record, mix, and master audio for music, film, podcasts, and other media projects to professional standards.
• Set up and operate audio equipment, including microphones, mixing consoles, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
• Collaborate with artists, musicians, directors, and producers to achieve desired sonic aesthetics and fulfill project requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to audio equipment or software during the production process.
• Maintain and organize the recording studio, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sound Engineer or in a similar audio production role, with a portfolio of work.
• Proficiency in industry-standard DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Cubase.
• Strong knowledge of acoustics, microphone techniques, signal flow, and audio mixing principles.
• Familiarity with various audio hardware, including mixing consoles, outboard gear, and studio monitors.
• Excellent listening skills and a critical ear for detail, with the ability to identify and correct sonic imperfections.
