Job summary

iOCO Limited seeks a forward-thinking Solution Architect to translate business needs into secure, scalable technology solutions. You will lead end-to-end architectures across applications, data, technology and security, leveraging cloud expertise to drive digital integration.

Based in Pretoria, you will align designs with enterprise standards, define integration patterns, assess data architectures, and guide stakeholders through architectural decisions, risk considerations and governance.

Qualifications

• Five+ years as a Solution Architect with end-to-end design experience.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into architectures aligned with EA standards.
• Strong background in cloud, security, data and integration architecture.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into solution architecture designs.
• Develop end-to-end solution architectures covering applications, data, technology, infrastructure, integrations and security.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, principles and roadmaps.
• Define application architecture, integration patterns, interfaces and technical dependencies.
• Design and assess data architecture, including data flows and information management.
• Develop technology and infrastructure architecture designs, including cloud-based solutions.
• Apply Azure architecture knowledge when designing or supporting cloud solutions.
• Incorporate security requirements, controls and risk considerations into designs.
• Evaluate technology options and provide recommendations based on needs.
• Support API design and digital architecture capabilities; collaborate with analysts, developers and security specialists.
• Maintain architecture documentation and implementation guidance.

What you'll do:

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into solution architecture designs.
• Develop end-to-end solution architectures covering applications, data, technology, infrastructure, integrations and security.

• Define application architecture, integration patterns, interfaces and technical dependencies.

• Develop technology and infrastructure architecture designs, including cloud-based solutions.
• Apply Azure architecture knowledge when designing, assessing or supporting cloud solutions.
• Incorporate security requirements, controls and risk considerations into solution designs.
• Evaluate technology options and provide recommendations based on functional requirements, technical constraints and operational needs.
• Support the design and implementation of APIs and digital architecture capabilities.
• Work with business analysts, developers, infrastructure teams, security specialists, data specialists and enterprise architects.
• Conduct architecture reviews and support technical decision-making throughout implementation.
• Identify solution risks, dependencies, integration challenges and potential design limitations.
• Maintain solution architecture documentation, diagrams, design decisions and implementation guidance.
• Use enterprise architecture knowledge-base tools to maintain alignment with the broader architecture landscape.

Qualifications:

• NQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent.
• TOGAF 10 certification or an equivalent architecture framework or qualification, such as Zachman or ArchiMate.
• Cloud solutions certification, such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Google Professional Cloud Architect.
• Another equivalent cloud architecture certification.
• Security certification, such as:
• CISSP.
• OSCP.
• CISM.
• Open Digital Architecture or Open APIs certification.
• The specific certification equivalencies and whether all listed certification categories are mandatory should be confirmed before the role is advertised.

Your Expertise:

• At least five (5) years of experience as a Solution Architect.
• Experience or capability in:
  • Business architecture.
  • Microsoft Azure.
  • Data architecture.
  • Application architecture.
  • Technology and infrastructure architecture.
  • Enterprise architecture knowledge-base tools.
