Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Software Technical Lead to guide the software/firmware stack for mining and heavy industrial safety-critical solutions. You will own architecture, drive technical direction, and lead a team of engineers across hardware-software integration.

You will mentor engineers, advance CI/CD and software quality standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable products. Occasional travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience.
• Minimum of 2 years in a Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, or similar leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain software architecture, technical standards, and engineering best practices across software and firmware.
• Own and manage the software backlog with prioritization and estimation.
• Design, develop, review, and maintain production software using Python and C++.
• Develop software interfacing with hardware platforms and sensors.
• Provide leadership for machine vision development, model training, and deployment.
