Join to apply for the Software Systems Engineer role at Saab We have a vacancy for the software systems engineer (SSE).

The position takes ownership of the system software requirements on customer projects, co-ordinate the software development activities with the Design and Development team, take delivery of project software, drive system software integration and testing activities, configure system software life cycle data.

The Software Systems Engineer will also engage with clients as required, provide client facing software assistance and will be responsible for all software deliveries.

Responsibilities Lead, plan and manage the Software System Engineering process for development and contractual projects within Saab Defence.

Create and maintain the System Software Development and Requirements documentation for embedded and ground support systems.

Act as System Software architect and perform related design tasks.

Derive lower level subsystem requirements from system requirements.

Lead and coordinate Technical Design Assessments (TDAs) in the NRE subsystems development.

Document system software interface requirements.

Verify and validate project system software baselines.

Maintain system software baseline throughout the lifecycle.

Support system engineering activities in integration and testing to achieve an accepted software baseline.

Provide technical support to Marketing, Bid Office and Product Management.

Contribute to quotes and tender costs for NRE projects.

Client and Vendor Management Provide technical assistance and effective internal client relations.

Assist project managers with project scheduling.

Support integration activities, test baselines and trials.

Maintain external customer relationships during project execution.

Support Marketing, Product Management and In-Service Support management.

Financial Management Input into quotes and tender costs for Program Specific Development NRE work.

Business Process Management Determine software requirements and give technical feedback to Product and Technical Product Managers.

Provide inputs for technical proposals on architecture, compliance, NRE requirements and system software integration cost estimates.

Profile Specialist Knowledge Experience with RTCA DO B / C software development.

Advanced knowledge of Software Systems Engineering processes.

Cyber security knowledge advantageous.

Experience with software simulation models advantageous.

Military environment experience advantageous (Airborne, Naval, Land).

Defence EW environment experience advantageous.

Practical Experience 5+ years in military software development or environment.

High competence with DOORS.

5+ years in Software Systems Engineering, preferably on customer projects.

Generate and compile development plans, specifications, test plans and procedures.

Hardware and networking environments : Linux, performance, utilization.

Communications protocols.

Embedded SW development experience.

CASE tools (Enterprise Architect) and UML usage.

Programming languages : C, C++, Python.

Automated testing experience advantageous.
