Job summary

Capitec Bank Ltd. in Stellenbosch is seeking an Intermediate Frontend Engineer to help rebuild the Capitec app frontend. You will own features, build reusable React components, and integrate with backend services.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to a frontend rewrite to drive a modern, maintainable architecture across a large codebase.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong, hands-on ReactJS experience.
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture and component design.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and backend services.
• A track record of writing maintainable, testable code within a large codebase.
• Comfortable working with Git and participating in code reviews.
• The ability to take ownership of your work and see it through independently.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

We're rebuilding the frontend of one of South Africa's most widely used banking apps, and we're looking for an Intermediate Frontend Engineer who wants to be part of that exciting journey.

We're not looking for someone who simply wants to work through a list of tickets.

We're looking for an engineer who takes ownership. Someone who can pick up a requirement, understand the problem, work through an approach, build the solution and see it through to completion.
