Requirements
- Grade 12 with four (4) year degree in social work. Registration with the South African council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker and proof of current registration. Valid drivers license. Knowledge / experience in hospital settings will be an added advantage.
Duties
- Render comprehensive health care social work services incorporating case and group work to patients and their families / next of kin. Required to act as a link between the patient and relevant community resources. Function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Administrative accountability through keeping statics and effective record keeping as prescribed. Liaison and networking with community resource. Study, interpret and apply relevant legislations, Policies and Protocols. Engage in continuous professional development activities. Required to attend ward rounds, conduct home visit, assess home circumstances and provide feedback to the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate social work values and principles of human rights and social justice. Demonstrate basic computer literacy as a support tool to enhance service deliver. Ensure regular in-service trainings in the hospital. Participate in admission, transfer and placement of various categories of patients at various alternative of care.
