Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organised, creative and proactive Social Media Manager & Marketing Coordinator to support multiple brands within our organisation. This role demands a passionate content creator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and has a strong understanding of both strategy and execution. You will play a key role in shaping the digital presence for each brand, from concept development and planning, to content creation, posting, community management and campaign coordination. This role includes regular travel to sporting events, particularly during Blindside Rugby and Blindside Netball seasons, including weekends and occasional public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Execution – Implement channel‑specific social media strategies for each brand aligned to campaign goals, audience insights, and business objectives. – Manage and maintain content calendars for all platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X. – Schedule and publish content consistently to maintain audience engagement and grow digital communities. – Stay up to date with evolving social media trends, platform features, best practices, and competitor activities. – Content Creation – Create engaging multimedia content including video, photography, graphics, reels, stories, and short‑form edits on the go. – Use Canva and other design and editing tools to design professional, brand‑aligned content. – Capture live content at sporting and brand events, including behind‑the‑scenes storytelling to enhance brand authenticity and reach. – Plan and direct basic interviews, player features, event coverage, and digital storytelling elements. – Community Engagement – Monitor comments, messages, tags, and mentions across channels; respond to engagement professionally and in brand tone. – Build relationships with fans, partners, and stakeholders through active community management. – Campaign Coordination – Support marketing campaigns including launches, events, sponsorship activities, and brand collaborations. – Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless delivery of content and key messages. – Assist with influencer partnerships, performance tracking, and reporting.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 2–3 years experience in social media management and content creation. Proven track record of managing multiple social media accounts and growing online platforms. (Portfolio will be requested.) – Highly skilled in Canva with strong design sense and visual storytelling. – Skilled with video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or similar. – Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Afrikaans is advantageous but not required). – Ability to multitask under pressure and meet deadlines. – Confidence to take creative initiative and produce content independently. – Ability to maintain a consistent tone and brand voice across varied brand identities. – Comfortable engaging with public audiences, schools, athletes, and well‑known individuals. – Must be prepared to travel extensively during Blindside seasons, including weekends. – Creative thinker with a passion for sport and storytelling. – Self‑motivated and solutions‑driven. – Energetic, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic environments. – Relationship‑focused with excellent interpersonal skills. – High attention to detail and delivery excellence. – Enjoys being hands‑on and part of live action environments.

Remuneration

Market related based on experience.
