Placements24 is seeking a Smart Contract Developer to design, implement, and deploy Solidity-based contracts for DeFi and other blockchain applications. Based in Klerksdorp with potential for remote work, you will ensure secure, efficient code and contribute to the architecture of our blockchain solutions.

Ideal candidates have deep Solidity expertise, experience with Hardhat/Truffle/Foundry, and a strong understanding of security best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Proven Smart Contract development experience with deployed contracts.
• Deep expertise in Solidity and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
• Strong understanding of blockchain principles, cryptography and decentralized systems.
• Experience with development frameworks (Hardhat/Truffle/Foundry).
• Knowledge of ERC standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155).
• Security-focused with familiarity of vulnerability patterns and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement smart contracts on blockchain platforms, primarily using Solidity.
• Write secure, gas-efficient, and robust smart contract code.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests for smart contracts.
• Deploy smart contracts to various blockchain networks (mainnet and testnets).
• Collaborate with product managers and other developers to define smart contract requirements and functionality.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure security, quality, and adherence to best practices.
• Analyze and optimize smart contract performance and gas usage.
• Stay updated with the latest developments and security vulnerabilities in the Solidity and EVM ecosystem.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Smart Contract Developer, with a strong portfolio of deployed contracts.
• Deep expertise in Solidity programming language and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
• Solid understanding of blockchain principles, cryptography, and decentralized systems.
• Experience with smart contract development frameworks and tools such as Hardhat, Truffle, or Foundry.
• Familiarity with security best practices for smart contracts and common vulnerability patterns.
• Knowledge of ERC standards (e.g., ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
