Job summary

Rosstone Professional Solutions seeks a proactive Safety, Health & Environmental Officer to support project teams in maintaining a safe, compliant work environment within an industrial setting. The role focuses on implementing SH&E systems, incident investigations and contractor safety coordination across multiple sites.

The candidate should have 2–3 years’ experience as a Safety Officer or similar, with a National Diploma in Safety Management and knowledge of OHS legislation.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent required.
• SAMTRAC qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• 2–3 years in a Safety Officer or similar role is preferred.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or FMCG environment is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable OHS legislation and site safety standards.
• Support health, safety and environmental systems and procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment across project sites.
• Identify hazards and communicate risks to employees and contractors.
• Capture contractor man-hours and compile safety reports.
• Conduct incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain site safety boards and documentation.
• Support safe execution of capital projects and on-site practices.
• Assist with environmental compliance initiatives.
• Review contractor risk assessments and permits to work.
• Facilitate safety meetings and daily site briefings.
• Work overtime and weekends as required.
