Job description

Howden is a global leader in air and gas handling products, services and solutions. Howden's core focus is on providing quality solutions for air and gas handling and it has over a century of experience in doing so.

Howden South Africa is currently looking for an experienced Site Quality Inspector (x3, Fixed Term Contract 6 months) to effectively monitor quality standard compliance for the Business Unit at various customer sites and suppliers.

What Will You Do

• Conduct QC inspections at various customers to ensure work is done in accordance with the Quality Control Plan, Client's Scope of Work & Howden standards.
• Produce QC reports according to procedure, accurate and on time.
• Conduct first‑line inspections on OEM equipment to assess damage, wear and tear, and prepare an accurate report for the Site Manager.
• Conduct periodical QC audits & surveillance on maintenance sites (planned/surprise visits) and prepare accurate reports for the QC Manager; conduct follow‑up inspections if required.
• Maintain the Service Department quality procedures, standard instruction manual, QCP documents and drawing database.
• Manage the Service Department's NCR process and follow‑up, providing feedback to customers and Service Department management on corrective actions.
• Perform QC audits on all Service Department sites to ensure compliance with internal and customer quality requirements.
• Ensure EHS standards are met within the QC department.

Your Experience Should Be…

Grade 12 or N3

Qualified Artisan (Fitter and Turner ONLY) with 6 years experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.

The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in power station draft plants.

ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems training.

Must be computer literate.

Welding & Fabrications inspector (Level 1 & 2) will be an added advantage.

Internal Auditor qualification will be an added advantage.

Candidate MUST reside within the Middelburg and Witbank area.
