Job summary

Scatec seeks a Material Controller to manage materials on site in the Free State. You will collect documents, track material arrivals, and ensure proper storage and traceability. The role supports project execution with hands-on documentation and reporting, ensuring compliance and quality throughout.

You will coordinate with Site Manager and Quality, manage NCRs, and handle damage claims while maintaining efficient material flow in a fast-moving construction environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Logistics/Material management required.
• 5 years’ experience in Materials management.
• Experience in construction projects.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Adaptability to changing environments and teams.
• Attention to detail and problem resolution.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Arrange storage and laydown area per Site Manager instructions.
• Manage information on material arrivals and laydown availability.
• Coordinate shipping documentation and feed the D365 database with accurate data.
• Oversee receiving, checking, storage, and preservation of materials; feed Key360 with information.
• Initiate insurance/claims for material damage during transport or erection.
• Coordinate NCR issuance with Quality Manager for vendor issues.
• Ensure quarantine area for damaged/non-conforming material is available and traceable.
