To oversee day-to-day operations on-site and coordinate all on-site construction activitiesto ensure that work is carried out safely, on schedule and in accordance with the approveddrawings and specifications.
The role serves as the link between site management,subcontractors, and the workforce, ensuring efficient use of labour, materials, andequipment while maintaining quality workmanship and compliance with project standards.The construction of :
- Two Classroom blocks comprising of 2 Classrooms each
- Ablution Block
- Water Reservoir
- Demolitions and external worksSite Supervision
- Oversee all construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Assign tasks and provide direction to site teams, subcontractors, and labourers.
- Monitor daily progress and resolve on-site issues promptly.
- Workforce & Resource Management
- Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, productivity, and material usage.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of resources.
- Quality Control & Compliance
- Inspect work regularly to ensure it meets required quality standards.
- Enforce adherence to building codes, health & safety regulations, and company policies.
- Report and rectify any deviations or defects.
- Communication & Reporting
- Act as the primary link between site workers, project management, and clients.
- Provide daily / weekly progress reports, including updates on milestones, delays, and risks.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost control.
- Health & Safety
- Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety on-site.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure all workers follow PPE and safety protocols.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure that safety and quality standards are adhered to.
- Ensure that professional service providers conduct site inspections as per project plan SLA.
- Ensure that all remedial work is carried out as per recommendations of professional service providers.
- Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Hands-on experience in masonry, concrete, or general building (advantageous).
- Minimum 7 years' experience in construction (with at least 5 years in a supervisory role).
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations (OHS Act, Construction Regulations).
- Trade certification or relevant technical qualification (advantageous).
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
