Construction Manager (Site Agent) — Routine Road Maintenance Locations : Multiple sites across South Africa Type : Full-time
We're looking for experienced Construction Managers / Site Agents to lead large-scale Routine Road Maintenance (RRM) projects.
This role suits hands‑on, registered civil engineering professionals who take full ownership of delivery, safety, quality, and cost. Active professional registration (ECSA / SACPCMP).

Minimum Requirements
- Required: A qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management at NQF 6 (National Diploma) or higher.
- Advantageous: NQF 7+ (BEng / BSc / BTech) in the Built Environment.
- Professional Registration (Mandatory)
- Active registration with ECSA (e.g., Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng / Pr Techni Eng) or SACPCMP (e.g., Pr CM / Pr CPM).
- Applications without active professional registration cannot be considered.
- Experience: 7+ years as a Construction Manager / Site Agent.
- Proven track record delivering civil projects, with at least four projects and aggregate value = R80 million.
- Successful management of RRM works to time, cost, and quality.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Read and interpret contract documents and technical specifications.
- Manage payment certificates and project cost controls.
- Implement and maintain a site management system (planning, controls, reporting).
- Ensure statutory compliance within the road reserve.
- Plan and implement traffic accommodation during maintenance operations.
- Strong stakeholder coordination: client, engineer, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers.
- SHEQ leadership and incident prevention mindset.
Responsibilities
Planning & Control
- Plan, schedule, and resource RRM activities across multiple sites.
- Monitor programme, budget, productivity, and risk, taking corrective action early.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site personnel, procurement, deliveries, and logistics for uninterrupted works.
Delivery & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain clear communication with clients, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to align expectations and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare and submit payment certificates, progress reports, and contractual notices timeously.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with SANS and GCC‑based contract requirements (or project‑specific standards).
- Lead SHEQ implementation and continuous improvement across all work fronts.
- Ensure all traffic accommodation and road reserve statutory requirements are in place and followed.
