The Role

We are seeking a driven Shopper & Category Manager to join the Marketing team. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping category growth, leveraging shopper insights, and executing data-driven strategies to optimize pricing, promotions, and in-store execution. The successful candidate will collaborate across Sales, Marketing, and Finance to deliver both short- and long-term growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shopper and category insight initiatives to drive conversion and retail influence.
  • Develop category strategies aligned to brand and growth objectives.
  • Execute and refine pricing strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
  • Optimize promotional plans and track effectiveness through data and post-event analysis.
  • Manage trade spend evaluations and provide ROI tracking on promotions.
  • Oversee merchandising and shelving strategies, including planograms and space management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies and ensure successful execution.
  • Support and lead cross-functional alignment through strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
  • Proven expertise in Category Management and shopper/consumer insights.
  • Strong financial acumen with advanced analytical and reporting skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a customer-facing Category Management role within FMCG.
  • Experience in Revenue Growth Management (advantageous).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, Circana/Nielsen, and DotActiv (space planning software).
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle competing priorities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (BComm or equivalent).
