Job summary

HEINEKEN Beverages in Springs seeks a Shift Team Leader to oversee maintenance and reliability of on-site machinery in a high-speed bottling environment. The role reports to the Immediate Supervisor. You will drive TPM, ensure safety, and lead a small team on the production floor.

You will perform administrative duties such as job cards and quality checks, with overtime as needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• N3-N6 equivalent with a trade certificate in fitter/turner or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in a high-speed bottling operation is advantageous.
• Completed recognised apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining machinery and equipment on site per required standards.
• Maintaining and repairing site equipment.
• Adherence to planned and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Improve OEE on production lines.
• Reduce unplanned downtime.
• Health and safety supervision of machinery and working environment.
• Compliance with OHS Act.
• Provide an effective engineering service to Production.
• Perform administrative tasks (job cards, quality checks).
• Lead and supervise people; participate in TPM empowerment.

Skills

N3-N6 equivalent with Trade Cert - Ftt

High-speed bottling experience

Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based at Supply Chain, Springs. The successful candidate will report to the Shift Team Leader.

Key Performance Areas

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining machinery and equipment on the site per required to be standard.
• Maintaining and repairing site equipment.
• Adherence to Planned and Preventative maintenance schedules.
• Improving OEE (overall equipment efficiency) on production lines.
• Reduce unplanned downtime.
• Health and Safety supervision of machinery, equipment and working environment.
• Compliance with OHS Act.
• Provide an effective Engineering service to the Production department.

• Perform stand-in duties.
• Leading and supervising people.
• Participating in TPM empowering excellence.

Skills

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

• N3-N6 equivalent with Trade Certificate - Fitter and / or Turner, Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in a high speed, high-tech bottling operation will be advantageous.
• Completed apprenticeship with recognized Institution i.e., was registered as an apprentice.
• 3-5 years relevant working experience in the FMCG.
• Ability to work under pressure and display good attention to detail.
• Proven ability in problem solving and knowledge of the various problem-solving methods.
• Must be self-motivated, innovative and able to work without or limited supervision.
• To reflect good leadership behaviour - towards colleagues, superior and company values.
• Must be willing and able to work shifts and overtime when required.
