Shift Supervisor Mining Industry (Rustenburg Branch)
Job Purpose
A vacancy for a Shift Supervisor in the Security Industry has become available. The main purpose of the position is to ensure that all site‑specific security requirements are adhered to and that the client’s needs are always efficiently and professionally met.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Grade A / B Psira registration and accreditation
- Firearm competency / Business purpose (Handgun / Shotgun & Rifle)
- Minimum 6 years experience in Security Operations – previous Shift Management experience within the Mining Industry is advantageous
- Very analytical with excellent problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage and discipline staff
- Computer literate – proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Strong operational planning, leadership and organisational skills as well as good interpersonal communication and client liaison skills
- Can work under pressure and for extended hours as required
- Clear criminal record
- Medically fit
- Valid driver’s license
- Own reliable transport
- Reside in Rustenburg or surrounding areas
Job Specification
- Maintain good relations between Fidelity Security Services Group and the client regarding security services rendered
- Continuously evaluate service levels and recommend improvements to the client
- Continuously assess client premises, minimise risky access and create barriers to deter criminals
- Ensure all security officers on site meet contractual requirements as stipulated by the client
- General management and supervision of security staff and address queries promptly
- Submit relevant monthly reports to the client and management when applicable
- Control and ensure effective and safe utilisation of security infrastructure, systems and resources
- Control operational security activities on a shift basis
- Compile and consolidate reports
- Write security reports and take statements
- Obtain further education & training certificate in specialist security practices
- Inspect and maintain an official vehicle
