Job summary

Kimberly-Clark in Cape Town is seeking a Shift Mechanical Technician for Epping Mill to provide on-shift technical support, maintain assets, and drive continuous improvement. You will work with engineering, operations and quality teams to ensure safety, quality and productivity targets are met.

The role requires a trade-tested fitter or mechanical diploma, 3–5 years’ experience with high-speed production equipment, and ability to read mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• Trade-tested fitter qualification or National Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience with high-speed production equipment.
• Experience in FMCG, particularly nonwoven production or converting environments.
• Ability to read, use and understand mechanical drawings.
• Hands-on technician with strong fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on shift to maintain asset productivity and safety.
• Lead improvements and配on projects for better uptime and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain PDCA-based improvements and digital dashboards.
• Own the rebuild process and optimise performance of units/assets.
• Support troubleshooting and problem solving with operations teams.
