Job Purpose
To lead and coordinate SHERQ improvement initiatives across all operational sites, ensuring consistent implementation of standards, proactive risk management, and alignment with legal, regulatory, and stakeholder requirements.
This role is critical in driving operational excellence, sustainability outcomes, and a culture of safety and compliance through structured project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and continuous performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent implementation and maintenance of SHERQ standard operating procedures (SOPs), toolkits, and process frameworks across all operational sites.
- Ensures non-conformances are accurately logged, root cause analyses are completed, and corrective actions are aligned with risk profiles and performance KPIs.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance assessments in alignment with legal, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements.
- Provide operational support in executing corrective actions, conducting risk assessments, and facilitating incident investigations.
- Coordinate and deliver training and capability-building initiatives to foster a culture of safety, health, environmental stewardship, and sustainability.
- Provide SHERQ support to VTM stakeholders and oversee the SHERQ landscape to ensure compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Engage proactively with internal teams and external stakeholders—including customers, principals, and auditors—to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Support change management processes, particularly in the onboarding of new customers or principals, ensuring SHERQ standards are upheld.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including cost of poor quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as Project Coordinator for SHERQ improvement initiatives, with active involvement in projects that enhance SHERQ performance and drive sustainability outcomes.
- Monitor product recall processes, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5 Years experience as a SHERQ and Sustainability Assurance Practitioner or in a similar role.
- Tertiary qualification in Quality, Safety, or Environmental Management.
- Working knowledge of ISO systems, legal compliance, and operational SHERQ practices.
- Working knowledge of SHERQ and non-conformance systems, with practical experience using SAP and Power BI for reporting and analysis.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in SHERQ implementation and site-level support.
- Familiarity with ESG principles and sustainability practices.
- Valid Code EB drivers' license.

Key Relationships
Internal: Collaborates across operations, sustainability, HR, and risk teams to support SHEQ compliance, incident management, and continuous improvement.
