Job description

Job title : SHE Coordinator (Centurion)

Job Location : Gauteng, Centurion

Deadline : November 29, 2025

Description

If "Safety First" is more than just a slogan to you – if it’s a way of life – then you might just be the person we’re looking for. We’re on the hunt for a SHE Coordinator who’s as passionate about a hazard-free workplace as they are about a well-labelled fire extinguisher. In this role, you’ll be the guardian of all things Safety, Health and Environment (SHE), ensuring that every process, person, and policy aligns with legislation, ISO standards, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Champion the implementation and improvement of SHE Management Systems in line with ISO 45001, the OHS Act, and company policies.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits – spotting hazards before they become headlines.
  • Facilitate incident investigations, ensuring every "oops" comes with a learning opportunity.
  • Coordinate SHE training, inductions, and awareness programmes that engage rather than send everyone to sleep.
  • Keep meticulous records, reports, and statistics – because data drives safety decisions.
  • Work with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and build trust.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and environmental awareness.
  • Participate in SHE Committee meetings, audits, and contractor management to keep everyone singing from the same safety hymn sheet.
Your Impact
  • Fewer workplace incidents, more "Well Done" certificates.
  • Tangible improvements in environmental impact metrics (waste, water, and energy usage).
  • A workplace where safety isn’t a checklist – it’s a culture.
What You’ll Bring
  • National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Management (NQF 5) or related field.
  • SAMTRAC or NEBOSH Certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Code B Driver’s Licence.
  • Someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and a natural problem-solver.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills – able to turn safety jargon into something everyone understands.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SHE reporting systems.
  • Calm under pressure, flexible in approach, and always accurate.
  • A true believer in good housekeeping.
  • Deep understanding of SHE regulations, Food Safety (FSSC 22000), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience in internal/external audits, lab testing processes, and building and construction regulations.
