Job Summary

We’re seeking a skilled Sew Shop Cutter and pace‑setter to join our team. You will be responsible for accurately cutting fabric according to specifications and patterns provided by designers or pattern makers, effectively communicating to the team and pacesetting the line. Your attention to detail and expertise in cutting techniques and pacesetting will ensure high‑quality materials for our garment and home interior production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabric Cutting: Cut fabric according to patterns, specifications, and markers, using scissors, cutting machines, or other cutting tools.
  • Pattern Making: Assist in pattern making and grading, ensuring accurate and efficient use of fabric.
  • Quality Control: Inspect fabric for defects, quality, and accuracy, reporting any issues to supervisors or quality control team.
  • Material Handling: Receive, store, and manage fabric inventory, ensuring it is properly labeled, organized, and maintained.
  • Oversight of cutting tools and table: responsible for internal oversight and repair of cutting tools and for reporting external repairs requirements through requisitions; oversee cutting table and keep the area neat and tidy at all times.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, pattern makers, and the sewing team, administration team and manager to ensure accurate and efficient production.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1‑3 years of experience in cutting or a related role in the textile or garment industry.
Skills
  • Proficiency in cutting techniques, including manual and automated cutting methods.
  • Knowledge of fabric properties, grain, and texture.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet production deadlines.
  • Basic math skills and understanding of measurement units.
  • Effective communication with all levels of team from top to bottom is absolutely necessary!
Education

High school diploma or equivalent; degree in fashion design or related field an advantage.

Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Fast‑paced production environment with frequent deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 kg on your own without assistance, and manual handling of materials.
