Requirements
- An MChD (Oral Medicine and Periodontics) degree or equivalent qualification to allow registration with HPCSA as a specialist in Oral Medicine and Periodontics. Current registration with the HPCSA as a specialist (Independent Practice). Experience in clinical practice of the specialty. Experience in teaching and supervision of undergraduate students in the discipline. Experience in postgraduate clinical supervision and research experience in the field will be an added advantage.
Duties
- The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising postgraduate students in the specialty of Oral Medicine and Periodontics, including Implant Dentistry. Key responsibilities include facilitating treatment planning sessions, leading journal and seminar discussions, and providing academic and clinical mentorship to postgraduate students. The incumbent will also be expected to actively contribute to the Department’s research activities and perform other duties related to postgraduate teaching, training, and academic development as assigned by the Head of Department or Head of Clinical Unit.
