Job summary

Woodlands Dairy (Pty) Ltd in South Africa is seeking a qualified Services Technician for our Utilities Department. You will maintain, repair, and optimize utilities plant and equipment to ensure safe, efficient factory operation.

The role requires a Trade Test certificate as an electrician, fitter, or millwright with at least 8 years of post-trade experience. You’ll troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems, service water treatment and boiler systems, and participate in standby

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician, Fitter or Millwright with a Trade Test certificate.
• Minimum of 8 years' post-trade industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, particularly with electrical and instrumentation networks.
• Experience conducting safety inspections and maintenance in industrial environments.
• Knowledge of utilities systems including water treatment plants, compressed air plants, boilers, ammonia refrigeration plants, cold rooms, AHUs, cooling towers, and transformers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance on utilities plant and equipment.
• Maintain, repair, and optimize utilities infrastructure to ensure efficient and uninterrupted factory operations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain and service water treatment plants, compressed air plants, boilers, ammonia refrigeration plants, cold rooms, freezer rooms, AHUs, cooling towers, and transformers.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with maintenance and safety standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to support maintenance activities.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide after-hours support, including standby duties and callouts when required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
