Our client, a world leader in the design and manufacturing of high-speed equipment for the packaging and bottling industry, is seeking a Service Technician to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of advanced packaging and bottling machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for clients. This role involves extensive travel, both nationally and internationally, to support customers across various locations.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance activities to ensure that Krones machinery performs efficiently
• Conduct equipment audits and overhauls
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Coach customers on operational and maintenance activities
• Communicate and interact with clients, technicians, and subsidiaries
• Fault find in a logical and professional manner
• Install and commission new machines/retrofits with instruction
• Attend to breakdowns telephonically and physically
• Work overtime and night work as required
• Travel to customers nationally and internationally
• Conduct performance acceptance tests at customers’ sites
• Provide intervention reports
• Installation and commissioning of single and complete packaging lines

Qualifications & Skills

• National Diploma or N6 with trade certificate; a degree in industrial automation will be advantageous
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a field service role in the beverage industry
• Knowledge of automation (Siemens S7 & TIA Portal), motion controls (B&R, Danfoss, SEW)
• Experience with inspection machines, dry end and general electrics
• Strong technical knowledge of FMCG/machine packaging
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Supervisory experience is an advantage
• Ability to install and commission packaging machines
• Customer‑orientated and able to adapt to change
