We are looking for a Service Technician (Gas Measurement) to join Endress+Hauser South Africa.
The Service Technician will be responsible for providing in‑house and on‑site Service & Technical support for the Gas Measurement Portfolio, to Endress+Hauser Customers.
This support will be offered mainly in the Gauteng area but can be expanded into Africa and other areas in South Africa when and where required.
Which tasks will you perform?
- Provide high quality and effective service delivery to Endress+Hauser customers
- Provide advice to customers on applications and processes within the context of the Endress+Hauser industry focus
- Execution of Endress+Hauser Added Value Services (AVS)
- High‑quality in‑house and on‑site calibrations (including 3rd party, after qualification)
- Maintenance activities, e.g., on‑site verifications (including 3rd party after qualification)
- Commissioning of devices (including 3rd party after qualification)
- Facilitate customer training sessions (customized and standardized modules) on‑site and in‑house (where required)
- Execution of on‑site support services, diagnostic & repairs services for Endress+Hauser devices (where required and necessary)
- In‑house repairs of customer devices in the workshop (where required and necessary)
- Support Endress+Hauser customers and ensure customer satisfaction
- Advise customers on best practices, device selection, installation and migration
- Build and maintain good customer relations while on‑site completion and production of high‑quality service reports and relevant documentation time‑sensitively (on‑site) to ensure customer satisfaction and sign‑off by customer signature – 24‑hour turnaround time
- Complete service appointments (within Service 4.0), upload relevant documentation within the applicable turnaround time(s)
- Maintain accurate recording and booking of own hours, unproductive and productive
- Maintain and manage own boot stock, including a quarterly boot‑stock check
- Interact with all departments; sales, projects, marketing, logistics and finance (controlling)
- Support Service Management with investigation regarding complaint (service‑related) cases
- Utilize C for customer interactions, communications and new leads and opportunity capture and communication
- Coach and train service technicians and trainees on the gas measurement portfolio
- Maintain competence with the latest technologies, Endress+Hauser products, solutions and services
- Develop and maintain competences regarding process applications within relevant industries as per Endress+Hauser's industry alignment focus
- Develop and maintain service competences regarding Endress+Hauser strategic solutions implemented locally
What do we expect from you?
- National Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation or National Diploma plus Trade Certificate as Industrial Instrumentation Mechanician
- Minimum of 5 years’ process measurement or industrial instrumentation experience
- Proven experience in a service environment
- Calibration & metrology experience
- Product Centre Basic Training Modules – Gas Measurement completed
- Experience in using SAP and Service 4.0 platforms
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- High level of problem‑solving and fault‑finding competences
- Comprehensive product, application, and technical knowledge
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy including knowledge of all MS Office software
- Service 4.0 competence
