Qualifications

Job Details : Service / Refrigeration Technician

This is a permanent, full-time position based at our site in Epping, Cape Town.

Overview
The Role

The Service / Refrigeration Service Technician will work within the Facilities service delivery department and company framework to ensure the effective maintenance of all process and service-related equipment.

As a qualified Refrigeration Technician, the bulk of the work will be related to maintenance of plant and equipment; however, in the role of Service / Refrigeration Technician he will be required to carry out service, refrigeration repairs and maintenance as and when required in the preventative maintenance and break down job card system.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the following equipment :

  • Freeze Driers
  • Cooling Towers
  • Cold Rooms
  • Freezer Rooms
  • Big Freezer
  • Ammonia Plant
  • Chillers
  • Effluent Plant
  • RO-water Systems
  • Corrective & Preventative maintenance program recording and completion
  • Implementation of preventative and / or corrective measures
  • On time and in full delivery to internal customers
  • Contribute to plant availability of at least 90%
Drill down to technical aspects of field of specialty

Participation in problem solving, improvement and / or cost saving projects / initiatives

Follow work instructions relating to the eQMS system

Raise requisitions on ERP system for purchasing / ordering requirements

Complete and maintain various records related to statutory requirements as well as internal documentation

Capture hours and work performed on various tasks in detail and with % accuracy on DMS job cards

Identify improvements & assist in implementation

Initiation of non-conformances, SQA's & completion of forms

Train contractors / fellow employees on permit systems and / or equipment usage

Requirements

You should apply if you are :

Technically qualified and trade tested.

Knowledge and Experience

3 to 5 years' working experience in a refrigeration technician role

Knowledge of GMP and ISO requirements

Experience working in a cGMP environment would be advantageous

Knowledge of Quality Management system e.g., CAPAs, Investigations

Experience with freeze dry and refrigeration maintenance is a prerequisite
