What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing 1st line telephone and technical support across a wide range of technologies.
  • Managing and resolving support tickets efficiently, ensuring regular client updates.
  • Collaborating with 2nd Line and Escalation Engineers to meet SLAs.
  • Maintaining and updating client knowledge base documentation.
  • Supporting colleagues across the engineering team and managing vendor tickets.
  • Working as part of a shift rota covering contracted client hours (Monday to Friday).
What You'll Bring
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and attention to detail.
  • Experience in IT Service Desk environments.
  • Knowledge of networking (routers, switches, firewalls) and basic configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with Office 365, Microsoft Desktop, and Windows Server environments (2008-2016), ideally in VMware ESXi or HyperV.
Education
  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF Level 4) - essential
  • IT-related tertiary qualification (e.g. Diploma or Certificate in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems) - preferred
Certifications
  • CompTIA A+ - foundational hardware / software support
  • CompTIA N+ - basic networking knowledge
  • Microsoft Certified : Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or MCSA
  • ITIL Foundation - for understanding service management frameworks
Experience
  • 1-2 years' experience in a Service Desk or IT Support role
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support too
