Job Specification

Overview The Senior Warehouse Supervisor supports the overall management and coordination of daily warehouse operations in a high‑volume, fine‑picking environment (8,+ active SKUs).

This role ensures efficient receiving, storage, picking, stock integrity and dispatch processes while maintaining high standards of accuracy, productivity and workplace discipline.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Ensure optimal use of warehouse space, resources and systems to meet operational demands.
  • Maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counts, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in implementing process improvements and efficiency projects.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between warehouse, procurement, sales, transport and customer service departments.
People Management
  • Supervise and motivate team leaders, pickers and general staff to achieve performance targets.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching and on‑the‑job training.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Enforce company policies and disciplinary standards fairly and consistently.
  • Support staff planning and rostering to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods compliance & housekeeping.
Compliance & Housekeeping
  • Uphold high standards of safety, security and housekeeping throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company SOPs.
  • Monitor maintenance needs of equipment, vehicles and warehouse infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to operations, safety and audits.
Customer Service & Communication
  • Ensure customer service standards and turnaround times are consistently met.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal departments, suppliers and transport providers.
  • Proactively resolve issues related to stock, deliveries or customer complaints.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Prepare daily / weekly / monthly operational reports and analyze performance data.
  • Identify trends, root causes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
Key Requirements
  • Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse Management.
  • 5+ years’ warehouse experience, including fine picking, stock control, receiving and dispatch.
  • 3+ years’ supervisory or team leader experience in a fast‑paced warehouse.
  • Strong computer literacy, especially in Excel and WMS / ERP systems (system‑driven approach).
  • Analytical and report‑writing skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making ability.
  • Energized, hands‑on leader willing to work extended hours when required.
  • Own reliable transport.
