Job summary

Tumaini Consulting seeks a Senior VOHE Engineer for a client in the mining sector, based in Limpopo. The role requires extensive experience in mine ventilation and occupational hygiene, with registration as a professional engineer/technologist and occupational hygienist.

MEC certification and MVSSA membership are mandatory, along with SAIOH registration. Applicants should have at least 10 years in underground mining ventilation, modelling, environmental monitoring, and related health and safety

• Experience in conventional and mechanised underground mining.

Job description

One of our top clients within the mining sector are seeking highly experienced and skilled Senior VOHE Engineer to join their team based in Limpopo.

To be considered for this role, you will meet the following minimum requirements:

• National Senior Certificate (Matric)
• Degree in Mining Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Environmental Health/Occupational Hygiene.
• Chamber of Mines Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (MEC).
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng.)
• Registration with SAIOH as a Registered Occupational Hygienist, and membership of the Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa (MVSSA) is a requirement.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Minimum 10 years’ mine ventilation and occupational hygiene experience in conventional and mechanised underground mining.
• Experience in ventilation network design, ventilation modelling, refrigeration and cooling systems, environmental monitoring, and occupational hygiene management.
• Demonstrated experience in carrying a legal appointment as a Section 12.1 appointee.
