Job summary

SunPower South Africa in Witbank, South Africa is seeking a Solar Project Development Manager to lead end-to-end development of utility-scale solar projects, from site identification through to commercial operation. The role requires 8+ years in renewable energy project development and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Renewable Energy.

Reporting to the Head of Renewable Energy, you will manage feasibility studies, financial modeling, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Renewable Energy required.
• 8+ years in solar project development or related field.
• Experience with IPPs, utilities and financiers advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate solar sites across SA with grid access and land availability.
• Develop proposals, models and memoranda for stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, utilities and regulators.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on-time projects.
• Ensure permits and regulatory compliance throughout development.
