Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic and results-driven Operations Manager to lead upstream oil and gas activities in the Soweto area and surrounding Gauteng regions. This senior role oversees planning, execution, and optimization of all upstream operations while ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and efficient resource production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of upstream oil and gas operations management.
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of upstream oil and gas operations, including exploration, drilling, and production.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, budgets, and plans to achieve company objectives.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
• Manage and mentor operational teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Monitor operational performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and service providers.
