Job summary

Remote Professionals seeks a Senior Client Accounting Manager to lead a portfolio of UK accounting clients and coordinate delivery of bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and year-end services. You will be the main client contact, ensure deadlines are met, and drive service quality and efficiency.

You will review work for accuracy, support onboarding, and guide a distributed team to meet client requirements. This is a remote-first role with exposure to international clients and leadership access.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field are required.
• 3–5 years of accounting/bookkeeping/client services experience in an accounting practice.
• Experience managing multiple client portfolios and deadlines.
• Experience coordinating accountants, bookkeepers or outsourced finance teams.
• Experience reviewing bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, management accounts or year-end accounts.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or CaseWare.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Confidence coordinating remote teams.
• Professional, proactive and service-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of UK accounting clients and coordinate delivery of bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, management accounts, year-end accounts and audit support services.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and provide regular progress updates.
• Review completed work before submission to clients and ensure it meets quality standards.
• Coordinate work according to team capacity, priorities and deadlines.
• Allocate resources and monitor progress across client portfolios.
• Track budgets and hours against agreed budgets and address bottlenecks.
• Maintain regular communication with accountants and bookkeepers; conduct weekly team meetings.
• Assist onboarding of new clients and document onboarding plans and workflows.
• Identify efficiency improvements and support automation/standardisation initiatives.
• Oversee month-end processes and ensure accurate billing and reporting.
