Our client, a leading financial trading firm in Benoni, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Trader to join their hybrid trading floor. The role demands strong market insight, rapid decision making, and effective risk management to maximize profitability.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of trading experience, a finance-related degree, and proficiency with Python/R. Hybrid working arrangement provides on-site presence with remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CMT) are advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a trader or in a related quantitative finance role.
• Proficiency with trading platforms, analytics software, and programming languages (Python, R) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to interpret market data.

Responsibilities

• Execute trades across equities, bonds, derivatives, and forex per strategies.
• Monitor market data to identify opportunities and risks.
• Develop and refine trading strategies for profitability and risk-adjusted returns.
• Manage positions within risk limits and adhere to protocols.
• Analyze performance to identify trends and improve strategy.
• Collaborate with PMs, analysts, and risk managers to align investments.
• Maintain trading records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Stay informed about market developments and new trading tech.
• Utilize platforms and tools to support decision-making.
• Contribute to firm's trading strategy and risk framework.
