Job summary
A recruitment agency in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to operate and maintain toolroom machinery. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 education, relevant trade qualifications, and at least 10 years in the plastics moulding industry. Responsibilities include mentoring apprentices and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- 1015 years experience as a Toolmaker in plastics moulding or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of toolroom equipment and precision machining.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and GMP.
Responsibilities
- Operate toolroom machinery safely and efficiently.
- Manufacture, maintain, and repair moulds with precision.
- Conduct fault finding on moulds and components.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate toolroom and related machinery safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
- Manufacture, maintain, and repair moulds and related tooling components with precision
- Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting on moulds and components
- Provide input on mould design and manufacturing processes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Mentor and train apprentices in Toolmaking techniques
- Manage machine shop tools, stock, and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Food Safety standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold company manufacturing standards
