Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Security Analyst to join a fully remote team. You will protect telecom infrastructure by identifying vulnerabilities, coordinating incident response, and implementing robust security controls across networks and systems.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on telecom security, strong knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, SIP/SS7, and experience with SIEM and incident management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of cybersecurity experience with a strong focus on telecommunications security.
• Strong knowledge of network security principles, protocols and tools (e.g., TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
• Experience with SIEM systems.
• Proficiency in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies.
• Understanding of telecommunications network architectures and protocols (e.g., SIP, SS7, 4G/5G security).
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or GIAC desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and investigative skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
• Proven ability to manage security incidents and respond under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments and vulnerability scans of telecommunications networks and systems.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to the telecom environment.
• Monitor security alerts and events, investigate potential threats, and lead incident response efforts.
• Analyze threat intelligence to proactively identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities.
• Design and deploy security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and encryption technologies.
• Perform security audits and penetration testing to identify weaknesses and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
• Collaborate with network and system engineers to implement security controls and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the telecommunications sector.
• Document security procedures, incident reports, and risk assessments.
