Job summary

The Talent Room in South Africa seeks a highly skilled motor mechanic to perform advanced diagnostics and major repairs on premium vehicles. You will diagnose engine, electrical and mechanical faults using specialist equipment and ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.

Mentor junior technicians, perform software updates, and liaise with service advisors to communicate findings and recommendations while upholding dealership quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Qualified Motor Mechanic (Red Seal Trade Test essential).
• Master Technician certification or equivalent advanced manufacturer qualification advantageous.
• 8+ years experience as a qualified Automotive Technician in a franchised dealership.
• Extensive experience working on premium passenger vehicles.
• Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding experience.
• Proficient in using modern automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop systems.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Excellent understanding of automotive electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to technicians and apprentices.
• Support workshop productivity by assisting with difficult technical cases.
• Liaise with service advisors regarding technical findings and repair recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer repair procedures and dealership quality standards.
