Job summary

Old Mutual South Africa invites a seasoned Senior Manager: System Development to lead CGIC's modernisation and technology delivery portfolio. You will shape the technology landscape, govern multiple teams, and partner with executive leadership on strategic decisions to ensure scalable, cloud-enabled and API-driven architectures.

You will drive SDLC governance, delivery governance, and agile practices while managing large-scale programs across underwriting, claims, accounting, portals, and data

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years experience within software development and delivery environments.
• 7+ years in senior technology leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading enterprise transformation and modernisation initiatives.
• Experience interacting with executive leadership and boards.
• Strong knowledge of application architecture, systems integration, APIs and microservices, cloud platforms, SDLC governance and agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple development teams responsible for core business systems and customer-facing solutions.
• Develop and execute CGIC's application development and modernisation strategy.
• Define technology roadmaps aligned to business objectives and guide legacy migrations to cloud-based architectures.
• Drive architecture, integration and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.
• Oversee governance, risk, compliance and delivery metrics for complex programs.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams including Development Managers, Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Data Analysts.
