Job summary

RPO Recruitment's client in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for building and infrastructure projects. You will review engineering designs, mentor juniors, and ensure compliance with codes and client specs.

The role involves coordinating with clients, architects and contractors, plus site inspections and construction support. The candidate should be professionally registered with ECSA (Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng) and have 8+ years' experience in a consulting

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised Civil/Structural engineering degree (BEng, BTech, ND, or NHD).
• Professionally registered with ECSA as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng.

• Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for a range of building and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, drawings, and technical reports.
• Oversee project delivery from concept through to completion.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

RPO Recruitment's client, a reputable consulting engineering firm in Cape Town is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their Structures team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional to take on a senior role within a dynamic and growing consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for a range of building and infrastructure projects
• Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, drawings, and technical reports
• Oversee project delivery from concept through to completion
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
• Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards, and client specifications
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct site inspections and provide construction support where required

Requirements:

• BEng/BTech/National Diploma or National Higher Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Professionally registered with ECSA as a Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in structural engineering within a consulting environment
• Strong technical design and problem-solving skills
• Experience in a variety of structural projects (buildings, concrete, steel, etc.)
• Proficiency in structural design software and MS Office
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
