A leading technology firm in South Africa is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to support the design and implementation of advanced security controls across various network platforms. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering expert guidance to junior staff. Candidates must have a degree in IT and at least five years' experience in cyber security, particularly in enterprise environments. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 essential.
  • 5 years of experience in a cyber security role focused on delivering business outcomes for Enterprise and IP networks.
  • Strong understanding of cyber risk management and security frameworks such as NIST, ISO and CIS Controls.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise/fixed network technologies including CPE, IP Core and associated network management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, analyse and resolve complex security issues in large-scale network environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job description
Role Purpose

Support the design, development and implementation of advanced cyber security controls across mobile, fixed, satellite, cloud and IoT networks to protect against evolving threats.

Initially focus on Enterprise and Business environments across all Group markets contributing expertise to key initiatives covering Enterprise Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), IP Core Networks, Network Management Systems, Office Connectivity Monitoring & Analytics and Measurement & Assurance.

Apply SME-level knowledge to ensure secure configurations and compliance with ISO, NIST and regulatory requirements. Conduct risk assessments, collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to the delivery of security solutions. Provide subject matter expertise to guide junior staff and actively support the Principal Specialist in driving technical delivery and ensuring alignment with operational priorities.

Requirements
