Job summary

V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, seeks a Senior Somatologist to join the luxury skincare team. Perform advanced facials, micro-needling, and chemical peels while building lasting client relationships.

Requirements include a Diploma in Somatology or Dermal Aesthetics, 3–5+ years in an upmarket salon, and residency in the greater Cape Town area with easy Waterfront access. Base salary ~R15,000 plus commissions.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Somatology or Dermal Aesthetics, 2+ years based on designation.
• Based in greater Cape Town with easy travel to Waterfront.
• Well-groomed and highly presentable appearance.
• Confident in standard skincare and beauty therapies.
• 3–5+ years post-graduation in upmarket skincare salon.
• Experience with active ingredients and scope as Aesthetic Therapist or Somatologist.
• Able to build long-lasting client rapport.
• Team player with ability to run own schedule and meet KPIs.
• Prescribe follow-up procedures and home-care regimes.

REPORT TO: Head Therapist / Owner

TRADING HOURS & SHIFTS:

• Monday - Friday 09:00am - 18:00pm
• Saturday 09:00am - 14:00pm

REMUERATION & BENEFITS:

• R15,000 per month BASIC Salary - neg. based on experience & skills
• Treatment Commission 10% (based on seasonal targets)
  
• Retail Commission 10%

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• DIPLOMA achieved in Somatology / Health & Skin Care or Dermal Aesthetics (minimum 2-years based on your professional designation)
• Must be based in the greater Cape Town with ease of travel into the Waterfront.
• Beautifully groomed and highly presentable - you must look the part.
• Confident in all standard Skincare and Beauty Therapies (as per qualification)
• 3-5+ Years post graduation experience in an upmarket skincare salon environment
• Experience and confident working with advanced, active, ingredients and within your scope of practice as an Aesthetic Therapist or Somatologist
• Able to build long lasting rapport with your clients.
• Team player - however able to run your own schedule and meet KPI's aligned with your duties
• Confidently prescribe relevant follow-up procedures and home-care regime based on client expectations and requirements
